Clip Clap Shoe Clips

Trisha needed a neat easy to use site to sell her shoe clips in addition to selling them at markets. Joomla and Virtuemart provided the answer.

Clip Clap was my second build using Joomla and Virtuemart, an e-commerce module for Joomla. The client is very pleased with how the site looks and it's very easy to enter new products, offer discounts and change other aspects of the business of selling.

The client was good enough to supply me with a design (done in MS Powerpoint) complete with a logo. The graphics were easily imported into Fireworks so they could be made suitable for web use.

I decided to create my own template as I could not find a suitable ready built one. The job was made easier with Barrie North's book Joomla 1.5: A User's Guide.

If you have a design brief the best way to go is to make your own template. Pre built ones have many CSS properties that get in the way. If a template is liked as it is, then use it; but in my experience modifying one to suit can be more trouble than it's worth.
